What managed includes
Managed means a person does the provider-side work. You keep root. This is the exact list.
- Initial setup
- Server created, operating system installed, root credential stored encrypted, within 24 hours on business days.
- Reboot
- On request, usually within the hour during business hours.
- Reinstall
- Fresh operating system from the available images. Data on the server is wiped; say so in the request if you need a backup first.
- Resize
- Move to a bigger or smaller plan. The next renewal invoice uses the new price.
- Backups
- Snapshot on request, kept at the provider.
- Other
- Anything else you can describe. We answer with what we can do and when.
Not included
- Uptime SLA
- Monitoring and alerting of your applications
- Patch schedules for software inside the server
- DDoS mitigation beyond what the provider gives every server
